October 13, 2007 - Flags White Team Brings Home First Victory

Republished from Wildcats Flag Football email address:

The Wildcats White team, led by a powerful offense and a bend but don't break defense, dominated the Bethlehem Saints this morning 14-0 at Chuck Bednarik Field in Bethlehem.

The Saints, who were celebrating their homecoming, came into the game with much confidence and were looking for a big win in front of their raucous fans but the Wildcats had their game faces on.

"It was a total team effort" said Coach Oberecker. "We can play with anybody when we are focused".

Ty, filling in for Erike at QB, efficiently led the offense to two lengthy scoring drives and the running backs had a strong game but the Wildcats defense was at it's best today.

"A few times we thought we would break one on the outside but they had too much speed for us" said Coach Joe June of the Saints. "Give them credit, they came in here on a mission and they accomplished it". The Saints had one last chance to get on the scoreboard but were thwarted by a diving tackle by Kyle Paccio as time ran out.

The Fightin' Flags head into their season finale at Andrew Leh Stadium in Nazareth against the Salisbury Falcons on October 20, 2007. When asked about their teams chances on Saturday the White team coaches all agreed that they can play with anybody when they play as a TEAM.

Congratulations to the Flags White team players and coaches!!!!!!!!!!!
